
They were 12 and 13 years old, and their names were Rashida Begum, Umaisa Bibi, Umme Nejatul and Umme Salma. Facing their teacher Shihida, they recited their lessons, this July 8, 2026, in the improvised girls’ school in block A-3 of camp No. 5, in the heart of the immense tangle of huts where more than a million Rohingya refugees live.
