
If the deputies confirm, by the solemn vote of July 15, 2026, the legalization in France of access to assisted suicide and euthanasia, the President of the Senate Gérard Larcher warns that he will refer the matter to the Constitutional Council himself. The latter will then have to rule on the conformity with the Constitution of the very sensitive bill opening a “right to assisted dying”.
