In a few lines of judgment, the scenario of the next presidential election has changed. Sentenced at first instance to five years of ineligibility with provisional execution in the case of the European parliamentary assistants of the National Rally, Marine Le Pen seemed out of the race for 2027. Tuesday July 7, the Paris Court of Appeal finally reduced this sentence to forty-five months, of which fifteen months are closed, making her immediately eligible. A few hours later, she announced her candidacy.
