
Seventy-two departments will go into orange heatwave vigilance on Thursday, with temperatures between 35 and 39°C, or even up to 41°C near the coasts of Languedoc-Roussillon, Météo France announced on Wednesday July 8. Only Corsica will remain spared, all other French departments are now on yellow or orange vigilance.

On Wednesday, 67 departments were on orange alert. The heatwave will “very likely continue until next weekend inclusive”, predicts Météo France in its 4:00 p.m. bulletin.
