A 5-year-old child and his father have been reported missing in Belgium for almost two weeks, and the justice system launched a call for witnesses on Wednesday aimed at collecting video surveillance images which would allow them to be located.
Tyméo and his father, Bryan Brigou, 29, were last seen on June 27 in Onhaye, near Dinant (south), and the father’s car was found empty the next day in a parking lot in this locality.
According to the Belgian channel RTL, Bryan Brigou was serving a sentence under electronic surveillance at the time of his disappearance.
But “the (electronic) bracelet cannot be geolocated,” Tina, Tyméo’s mother, told RTL, stressing that Bryan had the right to leave his home at certain times.
The appeal launched by the Namur police is aimed in particular at individuals or traders who may have video surveillance systems that may have recorded images of the two missing people or the vehicle.
It is a dark-colored VW Golf 6 model, with tinted rear windows, which could have been seen during the weekend of June 27 and 28 in the Dinant region.
The municipalities of Onhaye and Hastière are mentioned in particular, on the banks of the Meuse, in the north of the French department of Ardennes.
The call for witnesses is accompanied by a physical description of Bryan Brigou (dark hair and beard) and Tyméo (blue eyes, blond hair) and specifies the outfit they wore on June 27, each in a t-shirt and cap on a heatwave day.
“At this stage of the investigation, no avenue is excluded,” underlines the police, without further details.
Asked by AFP, the federal police, who had issued a first wanted notice on June 29, refused to say whether the child abduction route was favored.
Bryan’s mother, Marianne Brygou, said on RTL on Wednesday that she was “devastated” by the double disappearance, adding about her son: “he’s a great dad, who loves his little boy, and he would never hit his child, that’s nonsense!” »
