The provisional baccalaureate success rate stands at 85.5%, an almost stable level compared to last year (85.75%), indicated the Minister of National Education, Édouard Geffray, during a trip to Paris.

For all routes, the admission rate “is down 0.3 points compared to that of June 2025”, specifies the ministry. For the general baccalaureate, the provisional admission rate is 90.6%, down 0.5 points compared to 2025. It is 78.8% in the technological sector, down 0.5 points. For the professional baccalaureate, it reached 80.5%, or 0.5 points more than last year.
A slight decline which is “probably” explained by the capping of the points awarded by the harmonization jurors, underlined Édouard Geffray. Since this year, no draft is possible below 8/20. In all, 46,300 candidates (6.5%) were refused, up 0.5 points.
57,300 students expected for catch-ups
The minister also insisted this year on spelling, promising scales in all disciplines. “There was probably an effect,” he said. The baccalaureate success rate has exceeded 80% since 2012. Last year, the final rate was 91.8%, up over one year for the general (96.4%) and technological (90.9%) routes and stable for the professional route (83.4%).
For students who do not have their baccalaureate, the general and technological baccalaureate catch-up exams will take place until Friday July 10 inclusive. There are 57,300 candidates who will be able to apply, indicates the ministry. Their proportion among candidates (8%) decreases by 0.2 points compared to June 2025.
