A man convicted of the murder of his nurse wife in a highly publicized case in France since 2020 confessed in a spectacular turnaround revealed Monday in the press, who were able to consult his confession mail.

In addition to his confession of guilt, Cédric Jubillar, sentenced to 30 years of imprisonment in October on the basis of a body of clues, says he is ready to give information on where he hid the body of Delphine, his wife and mother of his two children, who disappeared at the age of 33 near Toulouse (south) on the night of December 15 to 16, 2020.

While he denied any involvement, he finally admitted to having killed his wife, a turnaround in his defense strategy two months before an appeal trial that his lawyers consider “impossible” to hold within the scheduled time frame.
This confession appears in a handwritten letter given to his lawyer Pierre Debuisson, occurring shortly after a change of legal representation.
Contacted by AFP, Me Debuisson confirmed “confessions” of Cédric Jubillar and “his wish to recognize his guilt in the disappearance of his wife Delphine”

“He remains at the disposal of the judges”, “I hope that the answers provided by Cédric Jubillar will allow (the couple’s children) to mourn and give Delphine a burial”, declared Me Debuisson during a press conference.
Over the course of visits to the visiting room, Pierre Debuisson claims to have established a “bond of trust” with his client, a painter and plasterer who recognizes an argument without specifying the circumstances.
Guy Debuisson, the partner and father of Pierre Debuisson, told BFMTV that Cédric Jubillar had “never intended to kill his wife”. A statement which suggests that the defense intends to contest the qualification of intentional homicide in favor of that of blows leading to the death of Delphine Jubillar.
Cédric Jubillar has been incarcerated since June 2021 in solitary confinement, as a security measure.
In the absence of confessions and bodies, the Assize Court, unconvinced by the accused’s denials, concluded in October that the murder of Delphine Jubillar was “characterized”.
The court held that the testimonies collected, the personality of the accused deemed “compatible” with the act, as well as his refusal to accept the departure of his wife for another man, constituted sufficient elements to establish his responsibility.
Among the evidence against him, the only pair of glasses worn by the victim, already damaged, had been found broken: damage likely to have been caused by an adult’s fist, according to a double expertise. The couple’s eldest son, aged 6, said he saw his parents pushing each other that evening. Two neighbors living 150 meters away had heard women screaming and barking around 11 p.m.
Children’s lawyer, Malika Chmani welcomed this turnaround. “We are relieved for the children. (…) Now it’s important that he tells us where the body is. »
