In South Korea, the beating heart of live performance is today in old Seoul, on Daehangno Avenue, the capital’s Broadway. The red bricks of this historic university district house around a hundred small rooms hosting numerous daily performances at fixed times. Jeong Jinwoong, 34, a theater enthusiast, regularly walks the premises, discovering new plays. “I’m here four to five times a week, you just have to book online, it’s very easy to access,” he explains.
