
Thibaud (his first name has been changed) is a brilliant student. Last year, in the anticipated French tests, in first year, he obtained 20 in writing, and 17 in oral. “For the last four years, he has won the excellence prize in his establishment, which is very academically demanding,” confides his father. Caressing the dream of becoming an officer, this final year student in a non-contract Catholic high school applied on Parcoursup to numerous preparatory classes for the Grandes Écoles (CPGE), without much worry given his academic record. “He was taken almost everywhere, notably in prep schools which have star classes (preparing for the most prestigious grandes écoles, Editor’s note),” continues Thibaud’s father.
