
It’s a giant of the seas. The boat which made a remarkable entry on Monday June 29, 2026, into the harbor of Le Havre is both the largest container ship flying the French flag and the largest ship running on liquefied natural gas. Ordered from the Yangzijiang Shipbuilding shipyards, near Shanghai, by the Marseille shipowner CMA CGM, it will officially become the Notre-Dame on Thursday July 2. Having been chosen as godmother, it was Delphine Arnault, CEO of Dior Couture and daughter of businessman Bernard Arnault, who officially gave her this name.
