Donald Trump has released a bizarre artificial intelligence-generated video in which he appears as a doctor diagnosing six celebrities with “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
The US president shared this disconcerting clip on X on Thursday. It features deepfake versions of many of its most prominent celebrity critics, including Julia Roberts, Robert De Niro, Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O’Donnell, Ed Norton and John Leguizamo.
In the video, an AI-generated Trump says: “Have you or someone you know been diagnosed with TDS? Symptoms may be incessant. Luckily, I’m Dr. Trump, and I have a treatment plan. Let’s see what some of my patients have to say. »
The clip then shows deepfakes of celebrities giving testimonials about their treatment for this fictional condition.
“I feel like I’ve aged 20 years in two years,” says fake Julia Roberts. “I was so worried. I was really starting to worry about my future. »
For his part, the fake Robert De Niro confides: “I couldn’t eat. I couldn’t sleep. Constantly angry. I made everyone around me unhappy. »
An AI version of Whoopi Goldberg claims she thought she was a “hopeless case” before following the “treatment plan.”
At the end of the video, the AI-generated Trump explains to viewers that the treatment is “simple.”
“The treatment is simple: turn off the fake news,” he says. “Say your prayers, and if you ever feel anxious, just drink a Diet Coke like I do, and you will see a remarkable difference in your life. »
This is not the first time Trump has shared AI-generated content on social media. He previously posted an image of himself depicted as a Christ figure healing a sick man, later telling reporters he thought it showed him as a doctor.
He was also criticized for sharing an AI-generated video depicting Barack Obama and Michelle Obama as monkeys.
