Chronic
Every day
Alain Rémond’s chronicle
Today is Monday. Well, normally. Because if it’s not Monday, but, say, Thursday or Saturday, then there is definitely something wrong. That everything is out of whack. Like the weather which, not content with being out of whack, would wreak havoc on the days of the week. Which means that we could no longer even answer “like a Monday” to the question “how are you?” ”, which, let’s face it, would be a real shame, whatever one thinks of the expression in question. Especially if there is a Monday where we can answer “like a Monday” to the question “how are you?” “, it’s really this Monday, after everything we’ve seen, everything we’ve known, everything we’ve experienced, heatwave and all. Normally, “like a Monday” is a way of saying that things are not going well. And that the week ahead has nothing, but nothing to be excited about.
