
It was in the new Synod hall, Saturday June 27, that Leo XIV closed his second consistory. The location was not insignificant: the last of the four sessions of these two days focused on “the process of implementing the Synod”. After a reflection “on the world”, on “the culture of power” and on the common good, the 178 cardinals devoted their final exchange to the future of the most emblematic project of the previous pontificate: the Synod on synodality, a reform of the governance of the Church, intended to be more participatory, launched by Francis in 2021.
