
7:45 p.m., at Radiant-Bellevue, in Caluire-et-Cuire, near Lyon (Rhône). In the room, dozens of spectators wait, almost feverishly, on chairs against the walls. How will they be eaten? Everyone came to discover Philippe Decouflé’s latest creation. But rather than calmly returning to their place, everyone finds themselves in the middle of an empty room, crossed by a “cat walk” – the catwalk of fashion shows – where two dancers in aerobics outfits are already moving. The audience has been well informed: presented as a “dancing karaoke”, Extra Bal will involve the public. Removing the barrier between the stage and the room is not so easy, especially for a dance performance. But already, intrepid people are helping to break the ice by joining this collective warm-up.
