End of red alerts planned for Sunday
Météo France is counting on an end to the heat wave red alerts on Sunday evening, after 13 downgrades from Saturday morning, establishing at 37 the number of departments still affected by the maximum alert level, according to its 6 a.m. bulletin.
“Sunday, the departments in red level will go down another notch,” writes the forecaster in this bulletin accompanied by a frieze announcing at this stage for 10:00 p.m. Sunday the lifting of the last red vigilances.

The four Samu in Paris, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne recorded an 80% increase in the number of calls over the past week, according to a report published by the AP-HP (Parisian public hospitals) on its website.
Regarding the crowds in emergency services, it was “exceptionally high” on Friday, up 36% compared to a normal day, and 8% compared to the day before, according to the report which covers the period from Thursday 6:00 p.m. to Friday 6:00 p.m.
Germany: heat record at 41.3°C
Germany broke its maximum temperature record on Friday with 41.3°C in a district of the city of Saarbruck (west), according to preliminary data from the German Weather Service (DWD) communicated to AFP.
“And it is entirely possible that this temperature will be reached again tomorrow (Saturday), or even slightly exceeded,” said Uwe Baumgarten, DWD meteorologist, contacted by AFP.
