
“I’m just a particle/When I get close I get burned…”, sang the Frenchwoman Miki in 2025. It’s hard not to have this refrain in mind when discovering Laure Prouvost’s mega-installation at the Grand Palais, on display until July 26. At the initiative of the German LAS foundation, the forty-year-old artist exchanged for two years with the philosopher Tobias Rees and the scientist Hartmut Neven around quantum reality, that of atoms governed by laws very different from those of classical physics. From this experience, works were born that attempt to immerse us in this underworld, but in the sensitive, whimsical and playful mode dear to the woman who, in 2019, represented France at the Venice Biennale.
