
It’s not for lack of having crossed swords and pushing their arguments. But the six hours of debate between opponents and supporters of assistance in dying ultimately did not result, on Wednesday June 24, in any modification – even cosmetic – of article 4 of the bill establishing a “right to assistance in dying”. This should only be voted on on Friday June 26, after the resumption of the debates which will ultimately spill over into the weekend, before the solemn vote on the text on Tuesday June 30.
