
The announcement is not yet official, but the results leave little room for doubt: a quarter of a century after her father, Keiko Fujimori is on the verge of becoming president. After the counting of more than 99% of the votes, the authoritarian right-wing candidate is ahead of her left-wing opponent, with 50.12% of the votes against 49.88% for Roberto Sanchez. It is very little, but undoubtedly enough to access, after three consecutive failures, the presidency for the 51-year-old woman.
