There is a very deep question that initially left me unanswered: Does Jesus sing in the Gospels? My first impulse was to say no. Jesus speaks, preaches, listens, answers, questions and, on the cross, he cries. It is the Word, is it not, and not the Song, which became flesh. And yet… Where does the Word find its incarnation better than in song?
