Man suspected of spying on French drone factory for Russia jailed

A man suspected of having spied on a French drone factory, for the benefit of Russia, was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention at the beginning of June, we learned on Friday from the Paris prosecutor’s office, confirming information from Le Parisien.

This 48-year-old man, born in Belarus, was arrested on June 3 “while he was filming a drone prototype from a company supplying the French and Ukrainian armies,” said the prosecution. “Investigations carried out by the General Directorate of Internal Security (DGSI) established that he sent a video to an interlocutor in Russia,” he added.

8-year-old child killed

In the Dnipropetrovsk region (center-east), three districts suffered Russian artillery and drone strikes, regional manager Oleksandr Ganja announced on Telegram on Friday June 19. These bombings particularly affected the town of Pavlograd, killing “an eight-year-old girl” and injuring a 49-year-old woman, according to this official.

In the Kharkiv region (north-east), aerial bombs hit the city of Kharkiv, as well as three other municipalities, according to Ukrainian rescue services, injuring 10 people, including 4 children.

One dead in Russian drone strikes in the Black Sea

Russian drones hit two civilian ships in the Black Sea on Thursday evening, killing one and injuring five, Ukrainian authorities announced on Friday.

“Following a Russian drone attack on civilian ships in the Black Sea, a crew member of a Panamanian-flagged ship was killed and two other sailors were injured, one seriously,” Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiï Kouleba said on Telegram. Three sailors from a second ship, flying the flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis, were also slightly injured, he added.
