Portugal – RD-Congo (1-1) :
Portugal, one of the favorites for the World Cup, was trapped by DR Congo (1-1), Wednesday in Houston, for its entry into the competition. Established from the start, the five-time Golden Ball Cristiano Ronaldo became the second player in history with Lionel Messi to play in six different World Cups.

The Black Stars take second place in Group L behind England, the big favorite, which benefits from a better goal difference after its victory (4-2) against Croatia earlier in Dallas.
Uzbekistan – Colombia (3-1):
Colombia, absent in Qatar in 2022, perfectly negotiated its return to the World Cup on Wednesday evening in Mexico by logically winning 3-1 against Uzbekistan, for which it was the first match in a World Cup.
Led by Luis Diaz, scorer and decisive passer, the Cafeteros take the lead in Group K with three points thanks to this result, benefiting from the poor performance of the Portuguese, who did no better than a 1-1 draw against the Democratic Republic of Congo.
