The accident that caused me to lose my sight happened because of football. I grew up in Souk-Ahras, a town located in the hills of Algeria, about fifty kilometers from the Tunisian border. During my childhood, we played on the road, a plastic bottle as a ball, with friends from the neighborhood. One day, when I was 7 years old, I was hit by a car and it caused my retina to detach. Little by little, I began to lose my sight.
