After declaring his candidacy at the last moment for mayor of Los Angeles last February, this figure from the left wing of the Democratic Party has just qualified for the second round, scheduled for November 3. The final race to lead America’s second-largest city will be 100% Democratic. Nithya Raman, 44, will indeed face the outgoing mayor, Karen Bass.
