A second trailer has been released for The Dog Stars (2026). Ridley Scott’s new science fiction film is based on the book of the same name by Peter Heller. The images, just like in the first trailer, show a post-apocalyptic world in which survival is central.
Mysterious radio transmission
The Dog Stars is set in a world where a flu pandemic has almost completely wiped out humanity. Hig (Jacob Elordi) lives with ex-Marine Bangley (Josh Brolin) in an isolated survival station. When Hig overhears a mysterious radio broadcast, he decides to look for signs of hope and other survivors. Along the way he meets Cima (Margaret Qualley).

A virus is the greatest enemy of what’s left of humanity after an apocalypse. Meanwhile, survivors are confronted by roving marauders called Reapers.
From Napoleon to the apocalypse
After trips like Gladiator II (2024) in Napoleon (2023), Scott returns with the Dog Stars back to the science fiction genre that made him world famous, including films like Alien (1979), Blade Runner (1982) in The Martian (2015).
Scott’s new sci-fi features an all-star cast. In addition to Elordi, Brolin and Qualley, the cast also includes Guy Pearce, Benedict Wong and Allison Janney.

The Dog Stars will from 27 augustus playing in the cinema.
