
Getting out of a bad start: the government had to keep this promise on a subject as essential as the fight against xenophobia. In mid-April, Renaissance MP Caroline Yadan’s bill (PPL) specifically targeting anti-Semitism turned into a political fiasco. A petition calling on deputies to oppose it had collected more than 700,000 signatures on the National Assembly website, a massive mobilization to which were added several forums from the academic world and student and union demonstrations.
