Pope Leo XIV left Rome on Saturday June 6 for the fourth apostolic trip of his pontificate, for a week-long visit to Spain. The Pope will successively visit Madrid, Barcelona and the Canary Islands archipelago.

Upon his arrival in Madrid, on the morning of Saturday June 6, Leo XIV will go to the royal palace for a courtesy visit to the members of the Spanish crown. Pope Leo XIV will then leave Madrid on the morning of Tuesday June 9 for Barcelona. Upon his arrival in the Catalan city, he will preside over the Sext office. In the evening, he will participate in a prayer vigil at the Lluis-Companys Olympic stadium.

Wednesday June 10 in the morning, Leo XIV will visit the Brians 1 penitentiary center, located northwest of Barcelona. The Pope will then fly on Thursday June 11 to the island of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, in the Canary Islands archipelago. At midday, he will preside over mass at the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, before returning to Rome in the early evening.
