
A “born tragedienne”, a “graceful vigor”, a “ravaging swell of energy”… The expressive intensity of soprano Tamara Bounazou in the title role of Iphigénie en Tauride by Gluck on the stage of the Opéra Comique had captivated audiences and critics. It was November 2025 and the young singer was taking a decisive step in her career. “This Iphigenia indeed changed everything,” the thirty-year-old recalled a few months later. I was able to work with great and generous artists like the conductor Louis Langrée and the director Wajdi Mouawad. And, for the first time in such a clear way, this character encouraged me to delve within myself, to seek resources in my own history and that of my family. »
