The story of the newcomer takes place in a seemingly normal neighborhood in the US, sometime in the 1980s. The life of an average family is turned upside down when strange things start happening in the neighborhood. More mystery
The theme of The End of Oak Street is not difficult to understand when you see who was responsible for the film as producer: JJ Abrams, the creator of Lost (2004–2010) in Star Trek (2009) and of a similar sci-fi mystery as Super 8 (2011), supports this project through his company Bad Robot Productions. The director is David Robert Mitchell, who with Under the Silver Lake (2018) has previously made quite a mysterious film.
Busy cinema year
The adult leads in the new thriller are for Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor, with Christian Convery and Maisy Stella playing their children. Hathaway is having a busy year in cinema: she was in David Lowerys Mother Mary (2026), celebrated the return of The Devil Wears Prada and is also part of the star cast of The Odyssey (2026).
