
Faced with the desire to smoke, good resolutions are not always effective. To put an end to cigarettes, the French are turning to nicotine substitutes, reimbursable on prescription. According to a study by the OFDT (French Observatory of Drugs and Addictive Trends) published Wednesday May 27, sales of these products increased by 7% on average between 2024 and 2025. With an increase of 8.2% for gums, tablets and lozenges, and 5.2% for patches (or transdermal patches). The increase has been constant and regular since 2019: overall, the sale of cessation treatments has increased by 58% over the last six years.
