
“I have no answer to that, sir”: certainly, Gilles Lellouche, who plays the role of Jean Moulin in a film dedicated to the last hours of the leader of the Resistance, did not imagine that such a sentence would place him at the heart of a violent controversy. The actor said it on Monday May 18 at the Cannes Film Festival, in response to a question from a journalist from Paroles d’Honneur, an online media outlet close to La France insoumise (LFI). “Do you think that it is essential today, in order not to betray the memory of Jean Moulin, to resolutely fight the National Rally? », asked the latter, before continuing: “Do you also think that La France insoumise, majority on the left, is today the best bulwark against the extreme right (…)? »
