Warner Bros. has the official title of the sequel to A Minecraft Movie (2025) revealed. The sequel will be titled A Minecraft Movie Squared. The release date of the long-awaited sequel has also been announced.
Great success is quickly followed up
Last year, the first Minecraft film became one of the biggest game adaptations ever. The adventure film with Jack Black (School of Rock (2003), Super Mario Bros: The Movie (2023)) not Jason Momoa (Aquaman (2018), Dune (2021)) broke multiple box office records and grossed hundreds of millions of dollars. As a result, a sequel was quickly announced.
Cast en Crew
Director Jared Hess returns for the second part and again co-writes the screenplay. Momoa and Black also return to their roles. In addition, Kirsten Dunst (Spider-Man (2002), Civil War (2024)) joins the cast of the new film.
While little is known about the story, several sources indicate that the sequel will introduce new areas of the Overworld and more iconic elements from the game.
Release date
A Minecraft Movie Squared appears on 23 July 2027 at the cinema.
