Tom Holland seems to be cautiously saying goodbye to his role as Spider-Man. According to Marvel Studios, it should Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026) will not only be a new chapter for Peter Parker, but possibly also the start of a transition to a new generation of heroes within the MCU.
Holland wants to hand over the baton
During interviews surrounding the new film, Holland said he doesn’t plan to play Spider-Man forever. The actor, who has played Peter Parker since 2016, indicated that he would eventually like to “pass the baton” to a new version of Spider-Man.
Back to basics
Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feige says that Brand New Day will focus more on Peter Parker’s daily life in New York. He must live again as an anonymous young adult without the support of the Avengers. The focus is on his financial problems, his identity as a street hero and the consequences of losing his old life.

Star cast expanded
In addition to Holland, Zendaya (Euphoria (2019– ), Wish Man (2019)) in Jacob Battle (Novocaine (2025), Tarot (2024)) back. In addition, the cast is expanded to include Sadie Sink (Stranger Things (2016–2025), The Whale (2022)) a Jon Bernthal (The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), King Richard (2021))
