The Swiss Mauro Schmid, from the breakaway, won the thirteenth stage of the Tour de France by beating the Colombian Harold Tejada in the sprint on Friday July 17 in Belfort.
The rider from the Jayco-Alula team scores his first success on the Grande Boucle in this stage for adventurers including the ascent of the Ballon d’Alsace and marked by a river breakaway which included up to 57 riders.

Saturday’s stage
After leaving Mulhouse, the riders will begin a stage dotted with mountain passes. “This long loop hides one of the gems of the 2026 route: the climb of the Haag, a forest path converted into a cycle path, winding over 11.2 kilometers at 7.3%, at a particularly irregular pace. There will then be six kilometers remaining to pick up the Markstein,” describes Christian Prudhomme, director of the Tour.
