
At the end of a long process, the bill paving the way for assisted suicide and euthanasia was finally adopted on Wednesday July 15. What is your first reaction?
Sadness, worry but also gratitude for those who have led and will continue to lead the good fight of a fragile life respected and supported. Sadness first, because our country, through this law, seriously weakens the very foundations of its civic pact and its project of fraternity. Concern then, because we are far from measuring the consequences of this text on the maintenance and development of palliative care and on our society’s relationship with the most fragile people.
