
Thirty years ago, on May 30, 1996, the heads of the seven monks of Tibhirine, kidnapped two months earlier by the Armed Islamic Group (GIA), were found a few kilometers from Médéa. During the entire period from their kidnapping until their funeral, La Croix published nearly a hundred articles on the drama experienced by the community of the monastery of Notre-Dame de l’Atlas: analyses, reactions, testimonies, reports, notably those of Ahmed Bedjaoui, La Croix’s correspondent in Algiers.
