A British man pleaded guilty on Tuesday to 32 acts of sexual violence, including rape, committed against his partner while she was allegedly drugged or asleep, over a period of more than ten years.

This is the latest case, particularly in the United Kingdom, reminiscent of the trial last year in France of Dominique Pelicot. His ex-wife Gisèle Pelicot became a world figure in the fight against sexual violence for having publicly testified to the rapes committed by dozens of men he had recruited.

The Briton, aged around forty and whose identity cannot be revealed for legal reasons, faces life imprisonment.
He appeared at Northampton Criminal Court in central England.
He is accused of rape and sexual assault on his partner while she was under the influence of drugs or asleep, as well as having filmed some of these acts.
Ten of these acts, committed between January 2014 and September 2025, were “in collaboration with an unknown person”, the court said. The number of people involved was not revealed during the hearing.
The defense denies that the victim was drugged during all the events.
But according to the prosecution, “all the offenses were committed while the victim had been drugged and rendered incapable of reacting”.
The accused will be sentenced on September 18, but Judge David Herbert warned that a “very heavy prison sentence was inevitable”.
Several investigations are underway in the United Kingdom for similar facts.
In Stockport, in the northwest of the country, the husband of a woman who was allegedly drugged and then sexually assaulted is due to appear in September alongside 12 other men accused of having participated in the sexual violence.
In January, a British man pleaded guilty to drugging and raping his ex-wife for 13 years. Five other men were also charged with sexual assault against the woman, four of whom pleaded not guilty.
The victim in this case, Joanne Young, waived her right to anonymity, as did Gisèle Pelicot.
