United Airlines unveiled a new offering for its economy class on Tuesday: a row of seats in “Economy Plus” class, designed to provide more elbow and leg room.

Many travelers complain about the lack of space in the cheapest class of the plane. The American company therefore wishes to provide innovation in order to resolve this issue.
These new seats offer greater elbow room and a shared table thanks to the absence of a central seat.
“The tablet is permanently attached; it is covered with a soft leather-like covering and has two recesses for the lenses. This additional space is in addition to three inches of additional legroom,” United explained in a press release.

These new seats will be exclusive for its new Airbus A321XLR model. “United plans to integrate this new “Economy Plus” option into its entire order of 50 A321XLRs,” it was reported.
The company did not specify the precise date when these seats will be accessible to passengers, specifying that they will be on sale “later this year”. However, the first flights aboard the new Airbus model are planned for the fall.
For the moment, United will be the only American airline to offer this type of seat.
