The live action of Rapunzel (2010) has been in the making for some time and the leading roles have already been cast. We just didn’t know when Tangled will be released in cinemas… Until now! According to new reports from Variety, the live-action will be released in 2028.
Disappointment for Disney
At this moment we can go to the cinema for Vaiana (2026). Unfortunately, the live-action of the animated film of the same name cannot count on favorable reactions and high returns. This has characterized the problem that Disney has been facing for years; live-actions and remakes score remarkably low. The expectations for Tangledthe real life version of animated film Rapunzelare therefore becoming increasingly lower.

We didn’t know when yet Tangled can expect in the cinema. Production was previously stopped then Snow White (2025) was extremely poorly received financially and critically. That the same thing is happening now Vaiana scores disappointingly, has not yet been proven. Variety even shares that Tangled has a release period! The live-action is scheduled to be released in theaters in 2028.

Leading roles
The leading roles of Tangled were previously announced. In January this year, Milo Manheim was cast as Flynn Ryder and it was announced that Teagan Croft will take on the role of Princess Rapunzel. There was also talk about the fact that Kathryn Hahn was in talks for the role of Mother Gothel.
