Around twenty people read in silence in a café in the 12th arrondissement of Paris. The correspondence of the Brazilian writer Fernando Sabino, a novel by Dostoyevsky, a psychology book… Everyone immersed themselves in the work of their choice, after leaving their phone in a locker at the entrance. On the program, an hour of collective and silent reading, then an hour of discussion for those who wish. This screen-free reading party has a price: €9.50 per person. The event is offered by the Paris branch of The Offline Club, a company founded in 2024 in Amsterdam (Netherlands) to promote digital disconnection.
