
The respite was short-lived. France has barely had time to breathe when it is already experiencing a new heat wave, the third in a month and a half. That of June, which lasted nearly fourteen days, was striking in its duration and intensity, leading to significant excess mortality. According to the latest data from Public Health France, the number of deaths increased by 30% during the week of June 22, or 2,025 additional deaths compared to the previous week.
