Nine departments in the west of France will turn to red heat wave vigilance on Friday, with 76 others being on orange vigilance, Météo France announced on Thursday July 9.
“Temperatures will be rising over a large part of the territory. 39-40 degrees will be reached or approached from Poitou-Charente to Pays de la Loire and Centre-Val de Loire. In Paris 37 degrees are expected,” indicates Météo France in its 4:00 p.m. bulletin. Only Corsica-du-Sud will remain green and 10 other departments (in the north and south-east in particular) will be on yellow alert. 72 departments were on orange alert on Thursday.
