The United States announced on Wednesday July 8 that it would remove Syria from the American list of countries accused of supporting terrorism, a decades-old classification that has limited investments in this country.
“Lifting sanctions on Syria will unlock international trade and investment, give Syria a chance to rebuild, and open a new chapter for the Syrian people,” Secretary of State Marco Rubio detailed in a statement.
