
Exactly fifty years ago, on July 8, 1976, the “old lady” of Guadeloupe erupted and lastingly disrupted the island. On this occasion, a general public awareness day is being organized this Wednesday on site, at the end of an international scientific conference which brings together researchers from nine nationalities who have come to learn the lessons of half a century of volcanic monitoring in the region.
