In a podcast broadcast Friday for the 250th anniversary of the United States, Donald Trump sent compliments tinged with barbs to his predecessors, mentioning in passing his weight which he must watch and his appearance in a swimsuit.
Guest in the podcast of Usha Vance, the wife of the American vice-president, the Republican presented a children’s album, “Presidents play”, published by the organization responsible for the conservation of the White House.
Franklin D. Roosevelt at the swimming pool, Grover Cleveland at fishing, Jimmy Carter at tennis, Bill Clinton at jogging… The book looks at the different sports practiced by several American presidents, whose activities are commented on, page after page, by a sometimes sarcastic Donald Trump.
President Richard Nixon, a bowling lover? “He spent a lot of time fighting to stay in power” and “got into trouble.”
William Taft, baseball enthusiast? “He was our biggest president, I have to be careful because I don’t want to beat his record, it would be possible if I let myself go.”
Barack Obama, a good basketball player? “I doubt it.”
As for the swimming pools built by different presidents at the White House — which no longer exist today — “I don’t know if I look good in a swimsuit,” Donald Trump said. “I haven’t had one in a long time, I’m too busy.”
“Maybe I should invite Barack Hussein Obama, Joe Biden, the Bushes (…) to watch a football game together. That would make a great story, wouldn’t it? The press would go crazy! », he continues.
“A reunion between presidents. That would be nice! », smiles Usha Vance.
Asked what advice he would like to give to American children for July 4, a national holiday in the United States, the president replied: “We have a great country, but a country that is on a bit of a ridge right now. The situation can swing to one side or the other. »
“We will choose the right direction and make America greater than ever,” added Donald Trump.
