
He takes responsibility for all editorial departments as well as marketing, audience and brand development activities, and joins the Group’s Management Committee, reporting to François Morinière, Chairman of the Management Board. This appointment is part of the Bayard Group’s desire to consolidate La Croix as a major reference in public debate. Jérôme Chapuis’ mission will be to strengthen the editorial uniqueness of the newspaper, develop its audiences and continue its transformation.
Jérôme Chapuis was born in 1977 (49 years old). After studying at Dauphine and the Ecole Supérieure de Journalisme de Lille, he joined RMC in 1999, then a year later at Europe 1. He presented the morning newspapers there before joining the political service in 2006. After the 2007 campaign, he became a correspondent at the Elysée where he notably covered the 2008 financial crisis and presidential trips, as a senior reporter. In 2011, he left Europe 1 for I-Télé then joined the political department of RTL, as deputy editor-in-chief and understudy for the morning political interview. At the end of the 2012 campaign, he took charge of the RTL – Le Figaro – LCI Grand Jury, which he hosted for three seasons. In 2015, he became editor-in-chief and presenter for the morning show (6 a.m. and 7 a.m. news) and joker for Yves Calvi. At the start of the 2018 school year, Public Senate entrusted him with hosting the show “Un Monde en Doc”. In 2019 he joined the Bayard Group as editor-in-chief of La Croix, then editorial director. In 2023 he joined France Info as morning presenter.
