“No shutters, no rent!” » With this catchy slogan, the petition published on Change.org by the citizens’ collective “Rent Strike” – unknown until now and relayed by several tenant defense associations – has collected more than 8,000 signatures since June 27. In particular, it proposes to “create a right to suspend rent for tenants whose accommodation is (…) devoid of basic equipment against heat” such as shutters, blinds or ceiling fans.
