After the unveiling of the first film image and the necessary story details of Werwulf (2026), the new horror film by Robert Eggers, the latest passion project of the Nosferatu maker has now also been provided with a trailer. The images promise an atmospheric trip that is at least as dark as its predecessor.
“Do not fear the darkness”
Aaron Taylor-Johnson stars Werwulf a medieval farmer who will do anything to protect his precious wife and way of life. Even if that means he has to endure a bizarre transformation and the greatest possible curse:
Familiar company
For Werwulf director Robert Eggers worked with actors he had already worked in front of the camera Nosferatu. Lily-Rose Depp plays the wife of the main character, while veteran Willem Dafoe makes an appearance as a hunter. Eggers previously stated in an interview that he wants to avoid the prevailing clichés of many other werewolf films with his latest work.

In medieval Britain, a mysterious creature stalks the misty countryside, turning local folklore into terrifying reality as villagers face an ancient supernatural threat.
New Year
Just like Nosferatu at that time Werwulf will be released in Dutch theaters at the beginning of the new film year (2027). Put the film on your watchlist and stay informed until its release January 7.
