Penelope Keith has passed away. Her family made this public today in a statement. The British actress was best known for her roles in several British sitcoms, including The Good Life (1975–1977) in To the Manor Born (1979–1981).

Keith joined the Royal Shakespeare Theater Society in the 1960s, where she learned the tricks of the trade. She gained national fame when she played the role of Margo in the sitcom series in the 1970s The Good Lifewhich ran for a total of four seasons. In 1977 she won a BAFTA television award for her acting. The final episode of the debut season of To the Manor Born, the sitcom she subsequently joined, broke a British television record.
