Several days after the tragedy, Francisca still cannot think of anything else. “It was horrible. I thought the whole building was going to collapse,” recalls the banking sector employee. Its tower, located in the San Bernardino district of Caracas, held up. She and her family are safe. “We were lucky,” Francisca concedes, referring to the situation in the La Guaira region, about thirty kilometers north of Caracas. “I see all these families without news of their loved ones. It’s horrible,” she repeats.
