
“Samu from Seine-et-Marne, hello. » The call comes from a 20-year-old young man who says his body is hot and struggles to hydrate. “Most certainly heatstroke”, thinks Valérie from the Samu 77 call center at the Melun hospital (Seine-et-Marne), before directing the patient to one of the regulating doctors. The one who is usually responsible for the Samu medical regulation assistants came to lend a hand to her colleagues – around twenty in all – who are facing an increase in emergency calls due to the heatwave.
